...is a community activist, an IT project manager at Chrysler, writer, diversity consultant, wife and mother of two.
Born in India, she went to kindergarten through tenth grade in the suburbs of NY, Boston and DC. She moved to India with her parents and baby brother and returned as a foreign student to attend grad. school in NY in 1988. She became a permanent US resident, got married, had two kids (not necessarily in that order) and in 1998 moved to Troy, Michigan with her family. She is a founding member of the Troy-area Interfaith Group, a member of the Bharatiya Temple's Outreach Committee and a Board member of the non-profit WISDOM, a women's interfaith movement for peace and justice through understanding. She is a member of the Executive Council of a national advocacy organization, the Hindu American Foundation. Her faith has been strengthened and deepened through her personal experiences and struggles, while her interest and search for more knowledge and understanding of Hindu philosophy is a family tradition.
